40
million litres of mineral water with a temperature of 29°
C bubble out of the interior of the earth in Warmbad daily, south
west of Villach. What was already made use of by the old (and
richt) Romans is nowadays highly appreciated by all visitors.
Today the interesting "Römersteig" (steep Roman
foot path) is a popular hiking path. Warmbad has a modern health
resort centre and an adventure thermal spring available.
The
heart of Villach is represented by its lovely old part of town
with its Italian charm and the cosy "Beisln" (inns)
and restaurants. The river "Drau" also belongs to the
atmosphere of the town which winds its way through like a blue
ribbon and highly frequented green oasis have been established
on its banks. The Villach carneval and the Villach fair (Kirchtag)
are also famous.
