The
Gerlitzen Alpe is the main mountain of the area around lake
Ossiach which rises directly from the northern shore and its
peak with the observatory can be reached by the "Kanzelbahn"
(a cable railway).
Those who don't want to just go hiking should try the orienteering
course.
Mountain and lake are connected by cable railway and road.
The "Kanzelhöhe" with the Gerlitzen Alpe is considered
to be the sunniest and the most snow guaranteed area in Carinthia.
